Iggy Azalea had such an emotional 2014. On the one hand, she singlehandedly dominated radio and nabbed several prestigious awards nominations, but on the other hand, she faced such a massive criticism on social media from both fans and colleagues, that it's hard to believe it didn't affect her as a person.
While Iggs strongly believes her critics are misogynistic, there's one respected hip-hop individual, who stood up for her. We are referring to none other than Kendrick Lamar. In a recent interview with Billboard, he addressed the people, who discredit Iggy and try to throw shade at her.
She’s doing her thing,” said Lamar.
“Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.”
In the interview, K-Dot also touched on his controversial loss to Macklemore at last year’s Grammys.
I appreciate [the Grammys] recognizing me,” said Kendrick.
“That’s not my overall goal… It’s best to just go and enjoy the festivities ".
